SkySpecs entered the wind energy industry in 2014 as an automated drone inspection company. After quickly earning a leading position in the United States and European markets, conducting over 23,000 onshore and offshore inspections for the biggest wind energy owners in the space, we grew our services and capabilities to offer a full-wrap operations and maintenance suite of solutions.
What this means to the industry, is that we can now present multi-layered solutions to our customers that include analytics, wind turbine blade expertise, collaborative software to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, create plans for high-cost repair campaigns, collaborate on complex projects, and – ultimately – reduce the cost and risk within the industry, making wind energy more attainable for the world.
In the last 18 months, SkySpecs has tripled its staff, opened a new office in Amsterdam, moved to a new space in Ann Arbor, and welcomed several key players in the industry to our team. It’s been a thrilling ride, and we are poised for even more growth in the second half of 2019.
SkySpecs is seeking a UX Designer that will create seamless interfaces, workflows, and experiences for enterprise users in the wind energy industry. Your work will primarily be centered on Horizon, a web (and someday mobile) application that wind energy owners can use to collaborate, analyze, and act on operations and maintenance decisions. The UX designer role is a high-visibility role within the organization, and you will have the opportunity to work directly with customers to understand their needs, work with the product leadership team on product strategy, work with Sales and Marketing to build go-to-market materials and to work with the technology teams to develop amazing software.
The UX Designer will be the first hire at SkySpecs in an experience, interaction, or interface design role. The ideal candidate is not only exceptional at their craft but is also a strong communicator and would enjoy being a design evangelist within the SkySpecs engineering and product teams. We expect that you will work to tightly weave experience design into every facet of the product development process.
