SkySpecs entered the wind energy industry in 2014 as an automated drone inspection company. After quickly earning a leading position in the United States and European markets, conducting over 23,000 onshore and offshore inspections for the biggest wind energy owners in the space, we grew our services and capabilities to offer a full-wrap operations and maintenance suite of solutions.

What this means to the industry, is that we can now present multi-layered solutions to our customers that include analytics, wind turbine blade expertise, collaborative software to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, create plans for high-cost repair campaigns, collaborate on complex projects, and – ultimately – reduce the cost and risk within the industry, making wind energy more attainable for the world.

In the last 18 months, SkySpecs has tripled its staff, opened a new office in Amsterdam, moved to a new space in Ann Arbor, and welcomed several key players in the industry to our team. It’s been a thrilling ride, and we are poised for even more growth in the second half of 2019.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

SkySpecs is seeking a Solutions Manager who will work directly with customers, managing and delivering consulting projects and analytic deliverables. You will be tasked with overseeing consulting projects end-to-end, from ideation to delivery. You will work closely with customers to understand their unique renewable asset fleet management needs and provide data-driven and actionable insights based on those needs. You will also be responsible for responding to customer requests for information, data, and products support. In addition to working directly with customers, you will work with various SkySpecs teams to aid in the expansion of our solutions. The Solutions Manager role will primarily be billable to the customer, and you will be responsible for generating revenue through your consulting projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience planning, organizing, and leading projects to deliver business value to enterprise, industrial, or commercial customers
  • 5+ years in engineering or technical consulting practice and/or project management in a technical field
  • Extensive experience delivering data analysis projects for enterprise organizations
  • Strong written, presentation, and communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise using and developing business intelligence tools such as Sisense or Tableau to perform analysis on large datasets that drive business value
  • Customer-focused with a self-starter mentality
  • Demonstrated project management skills in services, analytics, implementation, or technical analysis projects
  • Project management instincts that focus on delivering value to the customer
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or another technical/analytical field
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Based in the SkySpecs’ Ann Arbor office

NICE TO HAVE

  • Enterprise software implementation project experience
  • MBA or master’s in engineering, supply chain, or another technical field
  • Renewable or wind energy engineering or asset management experience
  • Startup experience

THE WORK

As a SkySpecs’ Solutions Manager, your role is to work together with customers to maximize the value they derive from SkySpecs’ products and services. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing services and implementation projects for key customers, using their data and SkySpecs’ expertise, analytics and BI tools. You will need to have a deep technical understanding of the SkySpecs products, as well as a big-picture understanding of the challenges that our customers face, and the technologies and methods needed to solve those challenges. You will:

  • Create project plans for customers that account for project timelines, budgets, and expected deliverables
  • Develop statements of work for customer projects, track billable/non-billable time and revenue generation
  • Manage data collection, analysis, tracking, and execution projects timely, accurately and exceeding customers’ expectations
  • Manage technical implementation and integration projects, change management, and process development projects to bring customers onto the Horizon platform
  • Deliver analytic findings, presentations, and dashboards through SkySpecs’ Horizon platform focused on providing business value to customers
  • Talk to customers regularly to better understand their priorities and pain points, offering solutions and support whenever possible
  • Develop relationships with key customers and broaden adoption of our products within their companies
  • Answer customer support questions and work with customers to find resolution on their issues
  • Assist in QA of the software and documentation writing.
  • Work closely with Sales, Technical Sales, and Business Development roles to ensure customers’ understanding of the services and capabilities available to them and that their needs are being met and communicated.
