SkySpecs envisions a world where wind energy is the most affordable form of electricity and therefore ubiquitous around the world. SkySpecs is helping to make this possible by automating the operations and maintenance of wind farms using advanced robotics paired with our custom-built asset performance management software, Horizon.

SkySpecs launched the world’s first completely autonomous blade inspection product in 2016 with a custom designed drone system. Since then, SkySpecs has inspected over 25,000 wind turbines in over 15+ countries, becoming the world leader in understanding the health of turbine blades. Identifying issues with turbine blades is only the first step. In 2019 SkySpecs launched Horizon to be a platform for SkySpecs to offer a multi-layered solution for customers that includes: data collection, wind turbine blade engineering expertise, and a place for all stakeholders to collaborate to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, and create plans for high-cost repair campaigns. Ultimately, this will help reduce the cost and risk of operations for the industry.


SkySpecs is seeking a Safety Manager who will work directly with all departments, on and off-site, for all things Safety & Quality. You are a self-motivated leader who comes from an industrial environment and safety background. You enjoy being tasked with building a program/department and driving toward multiple goals. You will work closely with the Operations and Services department to create, organize, and build a company safety and quality culture. You have a solid understanding of Safety and Quality international industry certifications.


  • Experience building a Safety/Quality culture company-wide
  • Minimum 2 years of Wind Energy experience and/or an equivalent energy services industry
  • Knowledge of vendor qualifications, safety reporting requirements, document quality control, and ISO certifications
  • BS/BA in Occupational Safety Management
  • Strong written, presentation, and communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise using project management tools such as the Google Suite platform, the Microsoft Platform, Slack, ETC
  • Self-motivated to teach safety with enthusiasm and passion
  • Ability to manage multiple safety and quality objectives
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%


  • Safe Start Trainer Certificate
  • In-depth understanding of ISO
  • Subcontractor safety management experience
  • Travel experience both domestic and international
  • A job history involving startup companies


As a SkySpecs’ Safety Manager, your role is to build a strong safety and quality culture company-wide. You are responsible for submitting vendor qualifications, managing and tracking incidents, and providing reports to management. You must create policies, procedures, and host regular meetings. You need to maintain company labor hour records, track all safety-related documents, maintain safety compliance with customers, and continually improve the programs. You will:

  • Complete and maintain vendor safety and quality qualifications
  • Interface with the customer safety and quality teams
  • Ensure the Project Quality Plan (implementation of procedures, quality training, internal audits)
  • Support the preparation of project reviews and ensure the existence of documentation
  • Report quality and product safety alerts (internal & suppliers)
  • Control project deliverable compliance through inspections and audits
  • Manage non-conformities and product safety issues and animate problem solving during project execution phase (internal & suppliers)
  • Measure and improve project quality performances through various key performance indicators while driving a continuous improvement program
  • Reporting of safety and quality KPIs to the management team
  • Ensure that safety assessment is correctly implemented, i.e. product safety review and prepare safety authorization
  • Manage and provide leadership on a day-to-day basis, develop and motivate quality & safety initiatives
