SkySpecs entered the wind energy industry in 2014 as an automated drone inspection company. After quickly earning a leading position in the United States and European markets, conducting over 23,000 onshore and offshore inspections for the biggest wind energy owners in the space, we grew our services and capabilities to offer a full-wrap operations and maintenance suite of solutions.

What this means to the industry, is that we can now present multi-layered solutions to our customers that include analytics, wind turbine blade expertise, collaborative software to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, create plans for high-cost repair campaigns, collaborate on complex projects, and – ultimately – reduce the cost and risk within the industry, making wind energy more attainable for the world.

In the last 18 months, SkySpecs has tripled its staff, opened a new office in Amsterdam, moved to a new space in Ann Arbor, and welcomed several key players in the industry to our team. It’s been a thrilling ride, and we are poised for even more growth in the second half of 2019.


SkySpecs is seeking a Marketing Content writer with excellent writing, editing, researching, and digital marketing skills. You’ll be highly organized, self-motivated, and willing to dive into the wind energy industry, identify timely and important topics, and produce content on a regular and consistent schedule, measuring engagement and ROI.


  • 1-3 years of digital and/or content marketing experience
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and proactively
  • Project management/oversight experience
  • Writing samples – blogs, content, or other business writing is acceptable


  • Startup or tech experience
  • B2B marketing or sales experience
  • Experience using SalesForce, Asana, and/or WordPress
  • Renewable Energy knowledge or interest


  • Contribute to the development of complex topics that require collaboration with subject matter experts to glean important details and insight
  • Write effectively for a variety of digital and print marketing platforms, including thought leadership pieces i.e. bylined articles and research studies, case studies and client stories, email, web copy and social media content, speeches and presentations, and a variety of other marketing communications
  • Edit and revise content based on internal or external feedback
  • Prepare creative briefs, short video scripts and executive summaries for articles and studies
  • Contribute to projects that help promote the brand internally and externally, including creating and maintaining corporate marketing collateral
  • Bring innovation, creativity, and freshness to our marketing execution and stay on top of trends in the marketing profession
  • Juggle day-to-day mar-com requests, such as writing and editing cover letters, invitations, online surveys, ads, etc.
  • Regularly communicate and share knowledge, including communication of work status using our project management system
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment; participate in project planning sessions with team members and key stakeholders
